Attack On Titan is one of the most popular anime in history. It’s also a visual masterpiece. From the animation to the amazing soundtracks, each scene in Attack on Titan sucks you into its world. But despite all the praise, the attack on Titan is still not without its issues. For one, it tends to portray female characters as weak compared to the super special awesome main character.

In a timeline where man-eating giant humanoids called Titans have destroyed most of the world, a small group of humans survive behind three massive walls to protect themselves. There, childhood friends Mikasa Ackerman and Eren Yeager grow up to become part of the military designed to repel these monsters, known as the Survey Corps.

But after a Colossal Titan smashes through the walls of Trost, causing a flood of giants into what was supposed to be humanity’s safe zone, Eren vows to kill all of them. He then enlists his friends and starts to train them up for the war ahead.

What makes Attack on Titan so good is its sense of horror. The Titans, while looking like human beings, are utterly terrifying because of their massive size and animalistic behaviors. They aren’t as disturbing as Godzilla or King Kong, but they still manage to make you feel unsafe and uncomfortable in your own skin.

The main problem, however, is that the show’s characters seem to lack their own identities. For example, many felt that Mikasa’s dedication to her friend Eren hindered her potential as a strong female hero. In addition, a lot of people disliked Eren’s villainy because it seemed more like an act to get the audience on his side.
